"Randi Wardian is a native Austinite who has been making mosaics since early 2025. After taking a class at The Mosaic Workshop, she knew after a lifetime of searching she'd finally found her medium and an obsession with broken glass and tile followed. As a long-time nerd and bookworm, she is captivated by high fantasy and the stories they tell. Good triumphing over evil, the inner hero/villain battle, holding onto childhood whimsy, and transformative journeys are just some of the themes seen in her works. Additionally, being ecologically responsible is an essential tenet of creating for Randi. She primarily uses scrap stained glass and recycled substrates in her creations to create works that are both accessible and eco-friendly. ‘Death Cannot Stop True Love” is an homage to one of the artists’ favorite movies, ‘The Princess Bride’. A classic story that proves that love truly is magical and true love can overcome all obstacles, even death. This piece is also a tribute to the director, the late Rob Reiner and his wife Michele."
